A Hard Lesson

Seventy years ago, the world changed. We’d like to think that humanity was humbled by the destruction caused at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but some 2000 atomic detonations later, it’s hard to believe we’ve learned our lesson.

Fifty-eight years later, I learned a deeply personal lesson about history, perspective, and privilege. One that still echoes with me today.
